Introduction

On October 23, 2025, Mountain Valley Pipeline, LLC (MVP) filed an Abbreviated Application with FERC requesting a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the planned MVP Boost Project. More information may be found in FERC Docket No. CP26-14-000 in FERC’s eLibrary. Please note that the Commission has not issued a decision on the project.

MVP Boost is a planned expansion of the Mountain Valley Pipeline Mainline system, which began service in June 2024. The proposed project would increase system capacity primarily by adding compression at existing facilities and constructing one new compressor station.

FERC staff will prepare an environmental document that will discuss the environmental impacts of the MVP Boost involving construction and operation of facilities by MVP. The Commission will use this environmental document in its decision-making process to determine whether the project is in the public convenience and necessity.
