Once the Commission has processed your request and any fee issues have been resolved, the Commission will send you a written initial determination.
In the vast majority of cases, the Commission will include any documents that can be disclosed along with the determination letter, although in exceptional cases, the documents themselves may be sent within a reasonable time afterward.
The determination letter will advise you of whether any information is being withheld pursuant to one or more of the exemptions. When pages are being withheld in their entirety, the Commission usually either will specify the number of pages being withheld or will make a reasonable effort to estimate the amount of the withheld information.
