A Seller must notify the Commission if the Seller desires to cancel its tariff (18 C.F.R. § 35.15, Notices of Cancellation or Termination).  This notice is required to be submitted through the eTariff system.  If the market-based rate tariff is the only tariff the Seller has on file, or all of the records under one tariff are being cancelled, then the Seller must also, as part of that filing, request that the Commission cancel that Tariff ID using a complete tariff cancellation type of filing.  If, however, the records containing the Seller’s MBR tariff are included with other records under the same tariff, the Seller should use the partial cancellation type of filing.

After February 1, 2022, a Seller seeking to cancel its MBR tariff should also make an MBR Database submission to update the relevant record in the mbr_authorizations table with the cancellation effective date.  For more information on the MBR Database and Order No. 860, please visit the Order No. 860 webpage.
