Hydrokinetic Projects
Definition: Projects that generate electricity from waves or directly from the flow of water in ocean currents, tides, or inland waterways.
Anderson Dam
FERC issued a dam safety directive on February 20, 2020, requiring Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) to immediately lower the reservoir restriction to elevation 565.0 (the reservoir is currently below this elevation, so no immediate action is required by SCVWD).

To ensure the Commission has the most up-to-date project contact information, the licensee/exemptee is required to designate a Primary Person of Record who is responsible for the project for non-dam-safety issues.
Preliminary Permits
A preliminary permit, issued for up to four years, does not authorize construction; rather, it maintains priority of application for license (i.e., guaranteed first-to-file status) while the permittee studies the site and prepares to apply for a license.
