Nick Jayjack is the Deputy Director of the Office of Energy Projects. The Office is responsible for siting infrastructure projects including licensing, administration, and safety of non-federal hydropower projects; authorization of interstate natural gas pipelines and storage facilities; and authorization and operation of liquefied natural gas terminals. Mr. Jayjack started his career at the Commission in 1995 as a fishery biologist where he was responsible for the review of hydropower license applications and the preparation of environmental documents. He then took on positions of increasing responsibility within the hydropower licensing program area, including serving as the first Chief of the Midwest Branch within the Division of Hydropower Licensing (DHL) and then as DHL’s Deputy Director. More recently, Mr. Jayjack served as DHL’s Director, a role in which he oversaw seven branches consisting of environmental and engineering staff who review license applications and prepare environmental documents for non-federal hydropower projects.
Mr. Jayjack holds a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Environmental Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. He resides in Fairfax, Virginia with his family.
