Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Kevin J. McIntyre has announced his appointment of Judge Stephanie Nagel as a FERC Administrative Law Judge.

Since July 2016, Judge Nagel had been an Administrative Law Judge with the Social Security Administration, conducting hearings on claims for disability benefits. Prior to that, she was an attorney advisor in the U.S. International Trade Commission’s Office of the Administrative Law Judges, and served as principal advisor to ITC Vice Chairman Dean Pinkert on intellectual property litigation issues. Judge Nagel also was a senior litigation associate in the Intellectual Property Litigation Department at McDermott Will & Emory LLP.

“I am pleased to welcome Judge Nagel to the Commission,” said Chairman McIntyre. “Her extensive experience will be an asset to our outstanding group of veteran administrative law judges.”

Judge Nagel is a 1997 graduate of the Tulane Law School, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Dartmouth College. She is a member of the Bars of the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit as well as the District of Columbia.
