James Dawson serves as General Counsel at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Prior to his appointment, he practiced energy and appellate law at Vinson & Elkins LLP. He previously served as a law clerk to Judge Alex Kozinski of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
A native of Texas, Mr. Dawson is a graduate of Yale Law School and Columbia University. He and his wife have a son and live in Washington, D.C.
