Commissioner Cheryl A. LaFleur Statement
February 16, 2012
“I wanted to announce a change in the advisory team in my office. Ruta Skučas s has made the decision to return to the Office of General Counsel, where she is working in Richard Howe’s group. Ruta was my first Advisor and was with me since I joined the Commission. She made outstanding contributions to our Office, particularly in her work on natural gas and PJM matters. I wish her success and happiness in her new role.
I am also happy to announce that Lisa Luftig has joined our team as Legal Advisor. Lisa has been with FERC as an Attorney in OGC since 2009. She previously practiced at Latham & Watkins and Dickstein Shapiro, where she worked on gas and electric matters.
Lisa hails from Syracuse, NY, but I checked her out and she is neither a Giants nor a Yankees fan, just a Syracuse Orange fan, so she checked out ok. She is a graduate of Syracuse University Law School and Barnard College. Earlier in her career, she worked in the energy industry at Navigant Consulting.
Lisa is handling natural gas and oil matters for our office as well as electric matters related to MISO and SPP, and as we say “other duties as assigned.”
