Chairman appoints Administrative Law Judge

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Pat Wood, III today announced the appointment of Charlotte Hardnett to be an administrative law judge at the Commission.

Judge Hardnett joins the Commission from the Social Security Administration, where she was an administrative law judge and also served as senior advisor to the General Counsel, Acting General Counsel, Associate General Counsel for the Office of Program Litigation and Principal Deputy General Counsel. Prior to that, she served as a Regional Chief Counsel and a staff attorney at the Department of Health and Human Services.

"We are fortunate to have someone of Judge Hardnett's caliber at the Commission," Chairman Wood said. "She is an asset to our experienced team of administrative law judges."

Among her numerous awards for government service, Judge Hardnett received the Presidential Rank Award in 2001 for her strong leadership, integrity and commitment to excellence in public service.

Judge Hardnett received her J.D. from the University of Idaho, her Master's degree in Library Science from Atlanta University and her Bachelor's degree in English from Cheyney University in Pennsylvania.
