Commissioner Moeller's statement on Green Energy Express

"The transmission rate incentives we conditionally approve today will help to construct transmission infrastructure needed to deliver new renewable energy resources in the Southern California desert to major load centers and markets in California. The transmission facilities proposed by Green Energy Express will deliver up to 2,000 MW of otherwise stranded renewable energy resources to consumers, bringing substantial environmental benefits to California.

Building needed transmission infrastructure is important to improve the reliability of the grid and deliver renewable resources to consumers. I commend the Commission for approving these incentives. "
