and extreme cold or freezing weather; necessity for compliance

with any court order, law, regulation or ordinance promulgated by

any governmental authority having jurisdiction, either federal,

state or local, civil or military; acts of a public enemy; wars

and civil disturbances; strikes, lockouts or other industrial

disturbances; shutdowns for purposes of necessary repairs,

relocations, or construction of facilities, breakage or accident

to machinery or lines of pipe; the necessity for testing (as

required by governmental authority or as deemed necessary for safe

operation by the testing party); inability of either party to

obtain necessary materials supplies, permits, or labor to perform

or comply with any obligation or condition of this tariff;

inability to obtain rights of way; and any other causes that are

not reasonably in the control of the party claiming suspension.

1.20 "Gas" means combustible hydrocarbon gas.

1.21 "Gross heating value" means the number of British thermal units

produced by the combustion at a constant pressure, of the amount

of gas that would occupy a volume of one cubic foot at a

temperature of 60ø Fahrenheit on a water-free basis and under a

pressure equivalent to that of 30.0 inches of mercury at 32ø

Fahrenheit and under standard gravitational force (acceleration of

980.665 cm/sec2) with air of the same temperature and pressure as

the gas, when the products of combustion are cooled to the initial

temperature of gas and air and when the water vapor formed by

combustion is condensed to the liquid state.

1.22 "Inert substances" means non-combustible substances contained in

the gas, including but not limited to helium, carbon dioxide and

nitrogen.

1.23 "Interruption" means reducing, suspending or discontinuing either

the receipt or delivery of gas.

1.24 "Mcf" means l,000 cubic feet of gas. "MMcf" means 1,000,000 cubic

feet of gas.

1.25 "Month" means the period beginning at 7:00 a.m. on the last day of

any calendar month and ending at the same hour on the last day of

the succeeding calendar month.
