PRELIMINARY STATEMENT

Viking Gas Transmission Company (Viking) is a natural gas transmission company engaged in the

business of transporting natural gas in interstate commerce. Viking's transmission system extends

in a southeasterly direction from the International Boundary near Emerson, Manitoba, Canada,

through the States of Minnesota and Wisconsin to its terminus at Marshfield, Wisconsin.
