PRELIMINARY STATEMENT

Central Kentucky Transmission Company(Transporter) is a natural gas

pipeline company principally engaged in the business of transporting

natural gas in interstate commerce under the authorization and jurisdiction

of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission). The facilities

owned by Transporter consist of a natural gas pipeline facility located in

Kentucky. Transporter's ownership consists of a 25% undivided interest in

the pipeline system referred to herein as the Line KA-1 North of which

Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation (Columbia) owns a 75% ownership

interest.

The transportation of natural gas will be undertaken by Transporter

only under written Service Agreements acceptable to Transporter upon

consideration of existing commitments, gas supply, delivery capability, and

any other factors deemed pertinent by Transporter.

In accordance with the provisions of this FERC Gas Tariff (Tariff),

Transporter is committed to providing reliable service of equal quality

under each Rate Schedule in this Tariff.
