TRANSPORTATION GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. DEFINITIONS
l.l Day - A period of twenty-four (24) consecutive hours
commencing at seven (7:00) a.m., Mountain Standard Time, or
such other period as the parties may agree upon.
l.2 Month - A period commencing on the first day of the
corresponding calendar month and ending on the first day of
the next following calendar month.
l.3 Year - A period of three hundred sixty-five (365) consecutive
days commencing on the date to be specified in the executed
Transportation Service Agreement; provided, however, that any
such year which contains the date of February 29 shall consist
of three hundred sixty-six (366) consecutive days.
l.4 British Thermal Unit ("Btu") - One (l) Btu shall mean one
British thermal unit and is defined as the amount of heat
required to raise the temperature of one (l) pound of water
from fifty-nine degrees Fahrenheit (59~F) to sixty degrees
Fahrenheit (60~F) at a constant pressure of fourteen and
seventy-three hundredths pounds per square inch absolute
(l4.73 psia). Total Btu's shall be determined by multiplying
the total volume of natural gas delivered times the gas
heating value expressed in Btu's per cubic foot of gas
adjusted on a dry basis.
1.5 Dekatherm ("dth") - One (1) dth shall mean a quantity of gas
containing one million (1,000,000) Btu's.
l.6 Heating Value - The quantity of heat, measured in Btu,
produced by combustion in air of one (l) cubic foot of
anhydrous gas at a temperature of sixty degrees Fahrenheit
(60~F) and a constant pressure of fourteen and seventy-three
hundredths pounds per square inch absolute (l4.73 psia), the
air being at the same temperature and pressure as the gas,
after the products of combustion are cooled to the initial
temperature of the gas and air, and after condensation of the
water formed by combustion.
1.7 Operator - The person or entity that controls the flow of gas
into El Paso's system.
l.8 Natural Gas - Any mixture of hydrocarbons or of hydrocarbons
and noncombustible gases, in a gaseous state, consisting
essentially of methane.
